We Stand Behind Our Work
McCloud Gutter has always believed that if our installation caused a problem, we should come back and make it right. This page explains that promise in plain language.
Not a sales gimmick — just putting our customer-care policy in writing
McCloud Gutter stands behind the workmanship of our new seamless gutter installations. If a gutter run, hanger, outlet, downspout connection, end cap, miter or related gutter component fails because of the way we installed it, we will come back and correct our workmanship.
This warranty applies to new seamless gutter installations completed by McCloud Gutter for the original customer at the original property, as long as the original gutter system remains installed and has not been removed, reinstalled, modified or altered by others.
Simple version
If our installation caused the problem, we want to know about it and make it right.
If the issue is caused by the roof edge, fascia, product defect, storm damage, clogging, maintenance, tree damage or work by others, we will explain what we are seeing and talk through the best next step.
The warranty covers the gutter system we install
The gutter system generally includes the seamless gutter, hangers, outlets, miters, end caps, downspouts, elbows and gutter accessories listed in the quote.
The warranty covers our gutter work, not every roof-edge condition
McCloud Gutter installs and warranties the gutter system we provide. The gutter system does not include the roof, shingles, roof decking, underlayment, drip edge, fascia, soffit, siding or structural framing unless those items are specifically listed in the written quote.
Some homes have missing, damaged, short, improperly installed or poorly positioned drip edge or shingles. In those cases, water may run behind the gutter, overshoot the gutter or fail to enter the gutter properly even when the gutter itself is installed correctly.
Additional work must be listed
If roof-edge corrections, drip edge, flashing, fascia repairs, diverters, valley splash guards or other related work is needed, those items must be specifically included in the quote or approved as additional work.
Clear limits keep the promise honest
The workmanship warranty does not mean every future problem with the home, roof, materials, tree cover, weather or maintenance is automatically covered by McCloud Gutter.
We will still help you understand the problem
Even when an issue is not a workmanship failure, we want customers to contact us. We can look at what is happening, explain what we see and help decide whether repair, cleaning, replacement, roof-edge work or a product change makes sense.
Product warranties are separate from installation workmanship
Some gutter materials, gutter guards, sealants, fasteners, coatings and accessories may include a manufacturer warranty. Those warranties are provided by the manufacturer, not McCloud Gutter.
If a manufacturer determines that a product is defective and provides replacement materials, McCloud Gutter can help with the claim process when possible. Labor to remove defective material and install replacement material is not included unless the manufacturer’s written warranty specifically covers that labor or McCloud Gutter agrees to it in writing.
Examples
Paint peeling, finish defects, coil defects, gutter guard material defects and sealant product failures are material issues unless the problem was caused by our installation workmanship.
Gutter guard workmanship and product performance are separate
McCloud Gutter warranties the workmanship of the gutter guard installation. If a gutter guard system fails because we installed it incorrectly, we will correct our workmanship.
Gutter guard product warranties, no-clog claims, overflow claims, finish claims and material warranties are controlled by the manufacturer’s written warranty for that specific product. McCloud Gutter does not promise that any gutter guard will eliminate all maintenance, all debris buildup or all overflow in every roof, tree, storm or valley condition unless that guarantee is specifically included in writing.
Honest expectation
Gutter guards are designed to reduce cleaning and help keep gutters flowing, but no system is perfect for every home, roof valley, pine needle load, shingle grit load, heavy-rain situation or tree condition.
How long should seamless aluminum gutters last?
A properly installed seamless aluminum gutter system can often last 20 to 30 years, and sometimes longer with good maintenance and favorable conditions.
The actual life of a gutter system depends on tree cover, roof size and pitch, storm exposure, ice or snow, clogged gutters, fascia condition, roof-edge details and whether the system has been damaged, altered or neglected. This is an expected service-life range, not a guarantee that every gutter system will last a certain number of years.
Replacement signs
Gutters may need replacement when they repeatedly leak, hold water, sag, pull loose, overflow from poor sizing or layout, have damaged sections or no longer drain properly after reasonable repair options have been considered.
We cannot fix a problem we do not know about
If your gutter system is leaking, holding water, overflowing, pulling loose or not performing the way you expected, please contact us so we can look at it.
If the issue was caused by our workmanship, we will correct our work. If the issue is caused by roof-edge conditions, fascia problems, storm damage, clogging, product limitations or something outside the gutter system we installed, we will explain what we are seeing and talk through the best next step.
Customer feedback also helps us improve. If a product, gutter guard, sealant or installation approach is not performing the way we expect over time, we want to know so we can adjust what we recommend.
Common workmanship warranty questions
Does this mean the gutter itself is guaranteed forever?
No. This is a workmanship warranty on the way we installed the new seamless gutter system. It does not mean the gutter material, paint finish, sealant, roof edge, fascia or gutter guards are guaranteed forever.
Does the warranty transfer if the home is sold?
No. This warranty applies to the original customer at the original property unless McCloud Gutter agrees otherwise in writing.
What if another contractor changes the gutter later?
If the original gutter system is removed, reinstalled, modified or altered by others, the workmanship warranty no longer applies to the altered work.
What should I do if I think there is a problem?
Contact McCloud Gutter with the address, photos if available and a description of what is happening. We will review it and let you know the next step.
